Beijing was my first stop of my six weeks travelling through China. The first thing that happened to me was I got the cough (from all the pollution) and a head cold. But I soldier on and walked through Beihai Park, which is near the Imperial Palace. This park was jamed packed as it was the holidays plus the weekend…everyone is so active, either dancing or just playing/practicing instruments.

Walked the Great Wall of China on the Badaling part, which took couple of hours or so. I was amazing! A bit cloudy/windy but something I will never forget.

Temple of Heaven is China’s largest ancient sacrificial buildings. I didn’t managed to get there in enough time to go into the temple but saw the park as the site itself was a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Checked out the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace) which always reminds me of the 30 Second to Mars music video. All I could think about it how much they paid to have the City all too themselves, as it was at capacity when I went through. It’s one of the musts you have to do in Beijing.

Confucian and Imperial College Museum was interesting as it was built in 1784. With all that history and it being a college. I managed to get to the Lama Temple too and this temple had a monastery too which was from the Geug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The huge buddha was amazing to see in one of the buildings too.

TIP: Chinese Holidays equal busy/queue and noisy but you can still make the most of it just be aware.
