From Hoi An we flew to Hanoi then off to Ha Long Bay for two days, one night.
We bought our tour in Hoi An (2days, 1night), but unfortunately we got ripped off as we boarded the cheapest boat. I would highly suggest buying the 4 star tours rather than 1 or 2 stars.
We made the most of it, we started off late from the dock and ended up going kayaking. Unfortunately one of the guys from our boat dropped his camera in the sea which wasn’t a great start but it was fun kayaking around and telling Sailor Jian what to do.
One the second day of the boat trip when went to the Surprise Cave…which I think everyone else did as it took a while to actually get in the cave.
The trip overall was ok, it was quite touristy for my liking. Ha Long Bay was ok, I can say I’ve done it but Ninh Binh was my favourite out of the two.
Ninh Binh was Ha Long Bay on land, that’s what the tour guide kept on saying because Ha Long Bay was closed for tours because they had a massive storm come through so everyone did the Ninh Binh tour instead.
During our tour when went to a temple, cycled around a local village and when on a little boat trip along this river.
The boat trip was amazing and we went undernearth the rocks in the little boat which local farmers row mostly with their feet for nearly for one to one in half hours.
Just like what the tour guide said, Ha Long Bay on Land!
